There are basically two types of vaults. A Top Seal Vault is a box with a flat top and rubberized seal. A Bell Type Vault has a flat plate-like base upon which the casket lays and a cupped cover that sits atop the plate creating a pressurized cover similar to a cup turned upside down and lowered into water.
